TISS National Entrance Test 2016 for MA Admission

Applications are invited by Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS), Mumbai for admission to full-time (regular) Post-Graduate Degree Master of Arts (M.A.) Programs offered at Mumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati and Hyderabad campuses and other locations for the academic session 2016
TISS-NET is a yearly exam conducted for admissions to Masters in Social Work and related programs at Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) Mumbai and its campuses in Tuljiapur, Hyderabad, Guwahati and other locations
Courses Offered:
TISS announces admission to the 2016-18 batch for it's Full-Time (Regular) Post-Graduate Degree Programs (MA, MSc, MHA, MPH) offered from Mumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati, Hyderabad campuses and other locations
Candidates having a bachelor's degree with minimum of 3 years duration or its equivalent (under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+2+1 year bridge course pattern of study or any other pattern fulfilling the mandatory requirements of 15 years formal education) from a recognized university are eligible to apply
Only those candidates who will be able to complete all the requirements of their final year bachelor's degree examinations by Saturday, June 11, 2016 are eligible to apply
For MA in Applied Psychology with Specialisations in Counselling Psychology and Clinical Psychology, preference will be given to those candidates who have a graduate degree, BA in Psychology; BA, B.Sc Home Science with specialisation in Child, Human Development; BA Social Work, BA General-with minimum three papers in Psychology
Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the TISS-National Entrance Test (TISS-NET 2016), pre-interview test and personal interview conducted by the institute
Exam Pattern
National Entrance Test (TISS-NET) is computer based; it will be held on 09th January 2016 from 02.00 pm to 03.40 pm in 39 centres (below mentioned) in different parts of the country
Northern Region (Chandigarh, Dehradun, Delhi, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Noida, Varanasi, Greater Noida, Mohali)
Eastern Region (Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Jamshedpur, Kolkata, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Dimapur, Silchar, Patna)
Western Region (Ahmedabad, Aurangabad, Bhopal, Gwalior, Indore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Solapur, Navi-Mumbai, Thane)
Southern Region (Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Visakhapatnam, Calicut, Madurai, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode)
The online test is of objective type and even those with a rudimentary knowledge of working with a computer can take the test
Duration of Test: 01 hour 40 minutes
In case a candidate desires to do the test on paper, he, she must this indicate this in the application form. The objective test will have questions related to social sensitivity, knowledge on contemporary issues; analytical ability, and logical reasoning
Candidates are required to apply online through the e-application only, available on the Institute’s website Candidates from remote places where no internet and telecommunication facilities are available can get a printed copy of the application form from the Institute
Candidates have to apply through the online application form only. Following are the steps involved in filling up the form. After login candidates have to fill in their basic details, academic details and have to mention the programmes they wish to apply for in the order of preference
Pay the application fee (depending on number of programs applied) either by depositing cash in any branch of SBI or through Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking and Scan and upload photograph, signature, marksheet of last exam passed and other necessary certificates
The application Fees is Rs.1030/- (if being payed by Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking) or Rs.1000/- plus bank charges (if being payed through bank by cash)
Candidate has to pay this amount for every program he applies for

4.     Candidates who appeared for the national entrance test will be sent their score cards on email: 02nd February 2016

6.     Pre-Interview Test & Personal Interview at Hyderabad for all Hyderabad Campus Programs: 30th March - 02nd April 2016
8.     Announcement of Selection on TISS website for all the Programs: 15th April 2016
9.     Verification of Documents & Payments of fees have be done at the Campus where candidates are selected except eligible SC, ST candidates: 18th to 28th April 2016
10. Announcement of First Wait List on TISS website for all Programs: 03rd May 2016
11. Verification of Documents & Payments of fees have be done at the Campus where candidates are selected except eligible SC, ST Candidates: 04th - 14th May 2016
12. Announcement of Second Wait List on TISS website for all Programs: 19th May 2016
13. Verification of Documents & Payments of fees have be done at the Campus where candidates are selected except eligible SC, ST candidates: 20th - 31st May 2016
